Mastering your monologue

Session 1 – January 20, 2024 10am-4pm
Session 2 – January 27, 2024 10am-4pm

at M&D Playhouse, 2760 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, NH

Join Mark Sickler, Artistic Director for M&D Playhouse, for this two part workshop that will help you hone your monologue skills for auditions and the stage.   The workshop will show exactly how actors can rehearse monologues specifically by using both acting and directing techniques to their fullest advantage, while developing the ability to see yourself as others see you, so that you can consistently produce star quality performances.

Part I will focus on all the elements in preparing a monologue – script analysis, staging, voice, timing, gesture, movement, and self-presentation skills.  Part II will allow the participant to take all of the knowledge and skills they learned from the first session and apply it to a monologue of their choosing to present to the group for peer and instructor review.

This workshop is designed for the actor or director that is looking for ways to master the monologue, or looking for new techniques to add to their tool box.  It is recommended for anyone over the age of 16.  Anyone under 16 years of age will be accepted with a recommendation from their school drama advisor or vocal coach.  This workshop is in two parts, and in order to benefit from it, attendance for both sessions is required.

The cost:                              $30 total
