M&D Playhouse is a staple for award-winning theater in the Mt. Washington Valley. The 2026 season features a mix of drama, comedy, high-energy musicals, and classic satire. The Playhouse also hosts summer theatre camps, educational workshops, and special events.

A night at M&D Playhouse offers an intimate and high-quality community theatre experience. Located within the historic Eastern Slope Inn complex, we are right in the heart of North Conway Village. 

Planning Your Visit

Since the playhouse is located on the main strip, parking and dining require a bit of foresight.

  • Nearby Dining and Shopping: Our Village location offers the perfect opportunity for a night out with fantastic dining and shopping just a short walk from the theatre. Park early and enjoy dinner at Chef’s Bistro, Cheese Louise, Sap House Meadery, Saco River Brewing, and Horsefeathers just down the street. When you return to the Playhouse enjoy a cocktail or snack at our full-service bar and concessions.
  • Parking Logistics: There is no dedicated parking at the theater itself; patrons are asked to park on the street, in the nearby bank lot after hours, or in the community lot just down River Road to avoid using spots reserved for hotel guests.
  • Tickets: Booking in advance online or through our box office at 603-733-5275 is highly recommended. 

The Theater Experience

The venue features a cozy, “black-box” style atmosphere with exposed beams and tiered seating on risers, ensuring a good view from almost every seat.

  • Refreshments: A small concession stand typically offers snacks and drinks, including cocktails, wine and beer, which you can enjoy during the performance.
  • Immersive Sets: Despite the small stage, the playhouse is frequently praised for its creative and elaborate set designs.
  • Atmosphere: The theater has a welcoming, community-focused vibe, though regular attendees often recommend bringing a light sweater in summer as the air conditioning can be quite effective.
  • Tickets: Typically priced around $29 for adults and $15 for youth (under 16). They also offer low-to-no-cost ticket options to keep theater accessible.
  • Showtimes: Standard performances usually run Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM, with Sunday matinees at 3:30 PM.

Founded in 2000 by Ken Martin and Mark DeLancey M&D Playhouse has garnered over 37 NH Theatre Awards in the past 24 years, including the Francis Grover Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award for founding director Ken Martin, and the NETC Award for Excellence in the American Theatre.

Please note: There is no available parking here at the Playhouse. All parking is reserved for guests of the Eastern Slope Inn and we must do our best to keep spaces available for them. Theatre patrons may park on the street, across the street in the bank parking lot, or the Whitaker Woods lot, or in the community parking lot just down River Road and a left after the railroad underpass.
