SPECIALTY WORKSHOP – YOUTH/ADULT

“Behind the Curtain” Stage Managing Basics
Instructor – Lori Jean Rowe
Ages – 12 through Adult
Tuition – $40
Saturday, March 11, 12 to 2 p.m.
This workshop will give the participant an understanding of the basics of what happens “behind the curtain” involving introducing the role of the stage manager, and the basics concerning lighting, set, and sound design.

YOUTH CLASSES

Creative Saturday Mornings with Carol Hanson
Instructor – Carol Hanson
Ages – 5 through 7
Tuition – $50
Saturdays from March 18 to April 1, 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Join Miss Carol in this beginning theatre/creative expression drop-off class specifically geared to our younger students. Carol will foster your child’s innate ability to imagine and create in a fun, unique, and non-competitive environment. The class will culminate in a special open performance at the last class.

Introduction to Theatre
Instructor – Tristan Andrews-Preston
Ages – 6 through 9
Tuition – $150
Six (6) Wednesdays from February 1 to March 8, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
This class is geared towards the student who shows an interest in theatre but may not know where they would like to start. Over a period of six weeks, students will be given a soft introduction to many key areas of theatre: acting, scenic design, light and sound design, props, and stage management.

Beginning Acting Techniques (Kids)
Instructor – Tristan Andrews-Preston
Ages – 9 through 12
Tuition – $150
Six (6) Fridays from February 3 to March 5, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
A course aimed towards the actor who has already gotten their feet wet on stage. Beginning Acting Techniques focuses more on the technical skills that will go into an actor’s toolbox. Students will spend six weeks developing their own acting styles while being taught important lessons on body work, monologue scoring, and teamwork within a scene. Students will also be given different lessons each week that are focused on a different acting method or analysis.

Fundamentals of Acting (Tweens) I/II
Instructor – Kevin O’Neil
Ages – 12 to 16
Tuition – $150
Six (6) Thursdays from February 2 to March 9, 4 to 6 p.m.
In this series of six classes, we will explore the tools of the actor’s craft, learn the fundamentals of acting through exercises in basic improvisations skills, scene study, and monologues, and explore and develop all of the actor’s artistic tools: body, voice and imagination.

ADULT CLASSES

Fundamentals of Acting (Adult) I
Instructor – Kevin O’Neil
Ages – 16 to Adult
Tuition – $150
Six (6) Tuesdays from January 31 to March 7, 6 to 8 p.m.
In this series of six classes, we will explore the tools of the actor’s craft, learn the fundamentals of acting through exercises in basic improvisations skills, scene study, and monologues, and explore and develop all of the actor’s artistic tools: body, voice and imagination.
